Saint Joseph’s Society is a 501(c)(3) non profit charitable organization chartered in 1885. The Society provides scholarships to students attending Catholic High Schools in the San Antonio Archdiocese in Bexar County. Funds are raised by the rental of our banquet hall, participation in the King William Fair, operation of our Conversation Bar, and donations.

St. Joseph’s Society has a long history of supporting charities, These include the Cordi Marian Sisters, Healy Murphy Center, Madonna Neighborhood Center, Allied Women’s Shelter, St. Joseph Catholic Church (downtown), and Hope for the Future. In 2013, we directed our efforts to providing scholarships to incoming freshmen at Catholic High Schools. We have now awarded 65 scholarships and plan to expand the program as funds become available. Please consider donating to this program. All donation go to scholarships only. The Society covers all costs associated with administering the program.

Our Conversation Bar, called that because you can actually carry on a quiet conversation, serves beer , wine, and a few snacks. We gave a great selection of craft beers at prices you won’t find elsewhere. The bar is open Monday thru Friday from 3:30 till 7:00. Later if needed. On most Mondays, we are open until 10:00 as the San Antonio Liederkranz practices here.

Our banquet hall seats 200 and is available for weddings, retirement parties, school reunions, family reunions, office parties, and birthday parties (over age 25). Setup, cleanup, security, and bar personnel are included.
